I have spent all day thinking about Paul, he even got in the way of my work!
Strange perhaps considering we hadn’t seen each other for too many decades but then again not so. We were a merry band of care-free teenagers busy having fun and growing up and those happy memories are thankfully intact.
Paul certainly was a natural engineer, like his Dad I suppose, and always tinkering with cars. He certainly impressed us the day he turned up at school in a (very old) Jaguar!!
When he arrived at Collyers School I discovered that he was also chums with my cousin, having been in the same class as him at Purley Grammar.
I sorry that I never managed to see Paul again but happy that we did make contact briefly. The memories will live on.
